Hon. Kenneth Gbandi extends heartfelt congratulations to distinguished individuals honored at the University of Calabar Alumni Association Asaba Chapter’s recent awards ceremony, held at Vienna International Hotel on December 20th. Among the esteemed awardees were H.E. Chief (Sir) Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta State, Comr. Agbateyiniro Weyinmit Isaac, Hon. Commissioner for Youths, Delta State, and Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo, Chief of Staff to H.E. Rt. Hon. Elder Sherriff Francis Oborevwori Jp, Governor of Delta State
Reflecting on the event, Gbandi, the former senatorial candidate for Delta North and a proud alumnus of the University of Calabar, expressed his joy at reconnecting with fellow Malabites, marking the first extensive gathering outside the university since his graduation in 1992.
The list of honorees included Mr. Luke Mokwunyei, Asaba Chapter President; Hon. Barr Sam Chukwuji, National Patron; Prof. Olele Nkeonyeasua Florence, Vice President of Asaba Chapter; and Rev. (Dr) Monday Udoh Tom, INEC REC, Delta State.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Gbandi commended Afe Clement, the Chapter PRO, and secretary of the Award Committee. The veteran Diaspora leader also hinted at the possibility of establishing a European Chapter of the association, pending consent from its members.
In celebrating the achievements of these outstanding individuals, Gbandi emphasizes the significance of fostering connections within the alumni community and continues to champion the spirit of excellence and leadership.
