FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Committee to coordinate diaspora mobilisation and support for the Atiku-Amaechi presidential campaign and other ADC campaign councils
London UK – 16 September 2026: The African Democratic Congress Diaspora Network (ADC-DN) has constituted a 25-member Diaspora Presidential Campaign Coordinating Committee (DPCCC) to coordinate diaspora participation, mobilisation and strategic support for the party’s campaign councils ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee was established following a resolution adopted at the ADC-DN Extraordinary Meeting held on Monday, 7 September 2026. It will serve as the central coordinating platform between ADC-DN continental and country chapters, the Presidential Campaign Council and other ADC campaign structures.
The DPCCC will coordinate campaign activities across Africa, the Americas and Europe, while expanding engagement with ADC-DN structures in Asia, the Middle East and Oceania. Its responsibilities will include volunteer mobilisation, strategic communication, policy engagement, professional-network outreach, international media relations and regular reporting on diaspora campaign activities.
ADC-DN Global Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Kenneth Chibuogwu Gbandi, described the committee as a major step towards transforming diaspora goodwill into organised political action.
“The Nigerian diaspora must move from goodwill and individual support to coordinated and measurable political action. The DPCCC will provide the structure required to connect our continental and country chapters with the Presidential Campaign Council and other ADC campaign councils.”
Gbandi said the committee would mobilise the knowledge, networks, professional expertise and community influence of Nigerians abroad in support of the ADC presidential ticket of H.E. Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.
He stressed that the committee would operate in full compliance with Nigerian electoral laws and the applicable laws of the countries in which ADC-DN maintains its structures.
