Press Release
Dr. RosaLyn Dressman, Envoy and President of Universal State of Earth Africa (USE Africa), has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families and nations affected by the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171. The incident occurred on June 12, 2025, when the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport. The flight, carrying 242 individuals—including 230 passengers and 12 crew members—tragically resulted in 241 fatalities. The sole survivor, a British national, sustained injuries and is receiving medical treatment.
In her message, Dr. Dressman described the news as “heartbreaking and traumatic,” offering her deepest condolences to the victims’ families and the nations affected. She conveyed her sympathy through letters to the governments of India, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Portugal, urging them to extend support and prayers to those impacted by the disaster.
The crash has intensified scrutiny on Boeing, as it marks the first fatal incident involving the 787-8 Dreamliner since its introduction. The aircraft had completed over 5 million flights without any prior fatal accidents, highlighting the rarity of such an event.
As investigations continue, authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash, with initial reports suggesting a potential issue with the aircraft’s landing gear or flaps. The aviation community remains united in mourning and support for the victims and their families during this challenging time.
