Hon. Kenneth Chibuogwu Gbandi has called on all members and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Delta State to see the recent NEC approval for the constitution of Caretaker Committees across the Zonal, State, Local Government Area, and Ward levels for a period of 12 months as a second chance to rebuild, reconcile, and reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking against the backdrop of the challenges faced by both the ADC at the national level and the Delta State chapter, Gbandi urged party leaders, candidates, grassroots members, women, youths, and critical stakeholders to put personal differences aside and embrace this new opportunity for unity and strategic coordination.
According to him, the NEC resolution should not be seen merely as an administrative decision, but as a timely political opening for all sincere members of the party to return to the round table and work toward the emergence of a credible, inclusive, and united caretaker leadership structure across Delta State.
Gbandi emphasized that the task before ADC Delta is too important to be sacrificed on the altar of division, factional interest, or personal ambition. He noted that with 2027 fast approaching, the party must focus on building a common front capable of delivering His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and all INEC-cleared ADC candidates across the state.
“This is a second chance for ADC Delta State. NEC has given us a window to rebuild from the ward level to the state level. We must use this opportunity to come together, sit at the round table, and produce unity caretaker executives that can carry everyone along and prepare the party for victory in 2027,” Gbandi stated.
He further appealed to all tendencies within the party to embrace dialogue, fairness, and inclusion, stressing that only a united ADC can effectively mobilize voters, protect its structures, support its candidates, and present itself as a serious alternative to the people of Delta State.
Gbandi maintained that the priority now must be reconciliation, grassroots mobilization, and the strengthening of party structures across all wards and LGAs. He called on leaders at every level to approach the caretaker process with maturity, discipline, and a genuine commitment to the larger interest of the party.
He concluded by urging ADC members in Delta State to rise above past misunderstandings and seize the NEC-approved caretaker window as a historic opportunity to reposition the party for success.
“The time for blame is over. The time for unity is now. If we come together, ADC Delta can deliver Atiku Abubakar and all our INEC-cleared candidates in 2027,” Gbandi said.
