The former Continental Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Europe, Diaspora Affairs and Development Advocate, and Delta State Senatorial Candidate in the 2023 general election, Hon. (Dr.) Kenneth Chibuogwu Gbandi, has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the reported passing of Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi, who represented Delta North Senatorial District from 2019 to 2023.

In a statement made available to the African Heritage Magazine by his media team, Hon. Gbandi described the late Senator Nwaoboshi as a political champion and influential figure whose contributions to the development and political evolution of Delta North, Delta State, and the broader Anioma Nation will not be forgotten.

Hon. Gbandi noted that, irrespective of differing opinions and perspectives in governance and politics, Senator Nwaoboshi left behind a legacy of developmental efforts and representation that had visible impact across Delta North. He stated that the late senator’s experience, political presence, and grassroots influence played a significant role in shaping the senatorial district during his time in office.

According to Hon. Gbandi, the passing of Senator Nwaoboshi leaves a profound vacuum in the political and social landscape of Ibusa community, Oshimili North Local Government Area, and Delta State at large, particularly at a time when seasoned leadership and institutional memory are greatly needed.

Hon. Gbandi extended his heartfelt condolences to the Nwaoboshi family, the people of Ibusa, Oshimili North, Delta North Senatorial District, and the entire Anioma Nation. He prayed that God grants the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss and grants the soul of the departed eternal rest.

“At this moment of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and all those affected by this great loss. May his contributions to public service continue to be remembered, and may his soul rest in perfect peace.”
