It is indeed a great day for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State as Hon. Onochie Osheokwu, a proven mobilizer and strategist, formally joins the party. This landmark move carries profound strategic significance, underscoring the timeless truth in politics: every politics is local.

Hon. Onochie Osheokwu brings to ADC a wealth of political experience, having served as Special Assistant to the ruling government in Delta State, as well as National Coordinator (South–South) of the Obidient Movement and Labour Party Presidential Campaign Coordinator for Delta State. These roles have equipped him with unmatched expertise in grassroots mobilization, strategic planning, and political organization skills that will be invaluable to the growth and consolidation of ADC in the state.

His decision to join ADC reflects not only courage and clarity of purpose but also a steadfast commitment to people-oriented politics and progressive ideals. It signals a turning point in Delta State politics, strengthening ADC’s position and expanding its capacity to engage communities across all wards and local government areas.

Speaking on this historic development, Hon. Kenneth Gbandi welcomed Hon. Onochie Osheokwu into the ADC fold, noting that his entry is a significant boost to the party’s drive for credible leadership and meaningful grassroots engagement. “With Hon. Onochie Osheokwu on board, ADC Delta State gains a strategic ally and proven mobilizer who will help drive our mission to empower citizens and ensure political accountability,” Gbandi stated.

ADC Delta State now looks forward to a future marked by unity, strategic action, and strengthened grassroots presence. Together, the party and its newly joined members will continue to advance a politics that is inclusive, locally grounded, and committed to tangible development for the people of Delta State.

Hon. Onochie Osheokwu is a seasoned political organizer with extensive experience across party structures and government. He served as Supervisory Councillor for Finance in Aniocha South LGA, and rose through the ranks of the PDP as Youth Leader in Aniocha South, Delta North Youth Leader, and Chairman of PDP Local Government Youth Leaders in Delta State. He later served as Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor and as a National Convention Protocol Officer at the PDP National Convention.

In 2022, guided by principle, he resigned his government appointment to join Peter Obi in the Labour Party. In 2023, he became Delta State Coordinator of the Obi–Datti Presidential Campaign, leading the effort that delivered Peter Obi’s victory in Delta State, and also served as South–South Coordinator of the Obidient Movement.

Once again, congratulations and welcome to the ADC family, Hon. Onochie Osheokwu. Delta State politics has gained a strategist, a mobilizer, and a true advocate for the people.
