Hon. (Dr.) Kenneth Chibuogwu Gbandi, leader of the ADC Diaspora Network (ADC-DN), the longest-serving Diaspora Leader and Board of Trustees member of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) both at national and continental levels (2013–2020), and the 2023 Senatorial Candidate for Delta North, has commended the highly successful Ward Coalition Committee Inaugurations across Delta State’s 25 Local Government Areas.
Speaking on the sidelines of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Defiant Literature Thinking Awardceremony at the 2025 Harbour Front Literaturfestival in Hamburg, Germany, Dr. Gbandi described the exercise as “a clear demonstration that the ADC is firmly rooted at the grassroots and that its message of inclusive governance and people-centered leadership is resonating widely with Deltans.
He noted that the inauguration of the ward structures represents a new chapter in consolidating ADC’s grassroots mobilization efforts and ensuring that ordinary citizens are actively engaged in shaping the party’s vision for Delta State and Nigeria as a whole. “I sincerely commend the leadership and stakeholders of ADC in Delta State for this historic milestone,” Gbandi stated. “The impressive turnout and seamless coordination of the inauguration process across all 25 LGAs signal that the African Democratic Congress is not just present but thriving at the grassroots level. This demonstrates growing acceptance and confidence in ADC as the true people’s party.”
Dr. Gbandi expressed deep gratitude to Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, describing him as “the people’s general and the great mobilizer of our time.” He acknowledged Chief Ogboru’s critical material and moral support, which made the coalition and inauguration exercises a resounding success. “Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru has once again proven himself to be a visionary leader and tireless mobilizer, not just for Delta State but for ADC nationwide. His unwavering commitment and generosity have fortified the party’s grassroots machinery and given renewed energy to our coalition efforts,” Gbandi said.
He further commended Engr. Austine C. Okolie, Chairman of ADC Delta State, for his “steady hands and principled leadership” in steering the party’s affairs at the state level, as well as the entire State Executive Committee for their dedication and teamwork. “Delta indeed no de carry last,” Gbandi remarked. “The handshake across the coalition is taking firm root in Delta, and with this momentum, ADC is poised to play a leading role in the political transformation of both the state and the nation.”
Dr. Gbandi appreciated all coalition leaders and stakeholders across Delta State for their unity, commitment, and meaningful contributions toward building a stronger, people-focused political movement. He thanked his Delta North constituency and oshimili North Leadership for turning out in mass in Akwukwu Igbo his home town for the event. “This is only the beginning. Together, we are laying the foundation for a credible alternative that will deliver for the people Delta and Nigeria,” he affirmed.
