The Miss Nigeria Germany Contest represents one of the most important cultural events for the citizens of Nigerian descent & their friends in Germany. The contest profiles the characteristics of a Nigerian, a typical African woman, such as being hard working, self-reliant and determined to succeed in the face of great challenges anywhere in the world. The auspicious event also presents Nigeria and fashion, creativity, glamour and beauty. The events features excellent catwalks, cultural presentations, Nigerian fashion show and powerful and entertaining performances from talented Nigerian, African and Afro-Europeans artists for the delight of guests and sponsors. The first pageant was organized with the joint initiative from the Nigerian Embassy Berlin in 2010 to mark the Golden Jubilee, create a positive image of Nigeria and showcasing Nigerian cultural heritage in Germany and German speaking countries. The event attracted over 500 audiences from all over Germany and from other parts of Europe.

This year’s contest was compact, fierce but fair. The suspense and tension was felt everywhere in the hall. No doubt the beautiful contestants, Toyin Shuaib, Ajibola Kolawole, Uwaila Uzzi and Folake Jayeola displayed their best performances but only one of them went home with the crown. The momentum of the event was witnessed  from the moment the contest was declared open for applications.  15 bold and courageous ladies applied for the pageant but only five made it through the elimination and four to the finals. The show was also a night for  beautiful Nigerian music and artists display from Young Chryme, Franklin, JC Collins, Tony Tuklan, M Piece, Michael Davies, Delta Man, Fine Face, Larry N Mike, Captain (from Berlin) and Black I dances. Mr. Fine face, a comedian filled the night with his hilarious jokes. The audience, who no doubt enjoyed themselves, had a hard time sticking to a particular contestant, as each of the girls displayed unique qualities and characteristics during the casual, traditional outfit, bikini and evening wear segments.

The pageantry was anchored by Hon. Kenneth Gbandi, CEO HiBC and HiBC team. Grace Evaly was the event manager with a power team of Juliet Ohenhen, Lilian Knu and Nadiah Ayeva, while Dayo Akintemi took care of the graphic, DJ Bayo was on set and Fiona Ngozi-Ogbo Akano from UK gave deco-Tips and provided gifts to Lady VIPs. Obiora Nweke, the Grand Master of ceremony added class to the beauty pageant.
